Biography

After graduating from Cardiff University in the UK with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2013, Bernard migrated to Australia and completed bridging study through a further Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of New England, prior to being admitted to practice in 2019.

Before joining Patrick W Dwyer/Slades and Parsons in 2021, Bernard worked for over half a decade in the courts, including three and a half years as a clerk at the Magistrates’ Court and over two years as Associate to her Honour Judge Hampel at the County Court. He has also worked at VCAT, the Children’s and Federal Circuit Courts.

Having extensive experience in criminal and quasi-criminal matters in various courts at state and federal level, Bernard uses his strong understanding of criminal procedure and awareness of court process to assist his clients when they are facing criminal charges, and has a keen interest in courtroom advocacy and articulating his client’s case to the court.
